Group congratulates Abubarkar on ministerial nomination

A social advocacy group, Youth for good Governance in Kwara State has congratulated Dr. Sulaiman Abubarkar, a lecturer at the University for his ministerial nomination by President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a press statement signed by the President of the group, Oladimeji Ajia, the group described Abubarkar's nomination as a right step taken by the president saying that they have the firm believe that his intellectual prowess and hardwork in the academics would be replicated in any portfolio he might be considered for.

"As an intellectual lecturer with vast years of experience in the academic line, we believe in the nomination of Dr. Abubarker as his knowledge of Nigeria polity would help stear the course of the Nigeria's project and the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan. The group said.

The statement also praised the leadership of Peoples Democractic Party in the State for their resolve to nominate Abubakar, as minister to represent the state in the federal cabinet. They described the act as a display of modesty and utmost cooperation that exists among the major stake-holders in the state PDP.

It would be recalled that The President had on Thursday nominated Abubarkar and the present FRSC Boss Corps Marshal Osita Chidoka to fill the ministerial slots of Kwara and Anambra vacated by immediate past ministers of sports and aviation, Bolaji Abdullahi and Stella Oduah, respectively.
