Sallah: NSCDC deploys 2000 personnel in Kwara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara said it had deployed 2,000 personnel to provide security during and after Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
The state Commandant, Mr. Gana Yerima, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Wednesday that the command was prepared to ensure hitch-free sallah celebration.
Yerima said the command had put all necessary measures in place to ensure safety of lives and property, and assured residents of adequate security during and after the celebration.
Yerima said 600 officials and men of the command would monitor situations in the IIorin metropolis alone, including all designated venues where Eid prayers would take place.
According to him, each of the remaining Local Government in the state apart from the state capital has at least 50 officials and men to maintain adequate security.
Yerima warned criminals and hoodlums, who might want to use the festivities period to perpetrate bad acts, to flee from the state in their own interest.
He reaffirmed the determination of the command to cooperate with other security agencies toward ensuring security of lives and property of the residents.
The commandant urged people to be law abiding, cooperate with security agents and provide useful information that would aid their job.
