Internal and External Advertisement for the Posts of Medical Officer I, Medical Officer II and Pharmacist I at Kwara State Polytechnic

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant posts in the services of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin:

1. Medical Officer I
2. Medical Officer II
3. Pharmacist I

The Polytechnic was established by the Kwara State Government as an autonomous Institution for the training of manpower in Managerial, Scientific and Technological fields.

The Polytechnic operates a well equipped Medical Centre under the NHIS Scheme situated on the main campus, along Jebba Road with a branch at the Institute of Technology, Mini Campus along Abdulazeez Atta Road, Ilorin.

(i) Medical Officer I - CONTEDISS 09

QUALIFICATION

The candidate must be a holder of M.B.B.S. or its equivalent, must be registered with the Nigerian Medical Council and has at least three years post qualification cognate experience. The candidate must have undergone the NYSC scheme .

DUTIES

• Responsible for the day to day running of the Medical Centre
• Attends to medical cases involving staff
• Responsible to the Rector in the running of the Polytechnic Medical Centre
• Attends to the Students Health Care matters in line with Students’ Health Insurance Scheme
• Liaises with NHIS Organisation on all aspects concerning students’ Health Insurance Scheme
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Polytechnic.

(ii) Medical Officer II - CONTEDISS 08

QUALIFICATION
The candidate must be a holder of MBBS or its equivalent and must be registered with the Nigerian Medical Council. Candidate must have undergone the NYSC scheme.

DUTIES

• Responsible to the Head of Medical Centre
• Attends to all Medical cases involving staff
• Attends to Students Health care matters in line with students’ Health Insurance Scheme.
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned

(iii) Pharmacist I - CONTEDISS 08

QUALIFICATION

The candidate must be a holder of B.Sc Pharmacy or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution and must have at least 3 years post qualification cognate experience. NYSC, internship inclusive. A holder of a Post-graduate qualification in Pharmacy with one year of cognate experience can also apply.

DUTIES

• The officer will be responsible to the Head of the Centre.
• In charge of Pharmacy Unit of the Medical Centre of the Polytechnic.
• Compounding and dispensing of drugs.
• Advise on purchase and storage of drugs.
• Ensure proper maintenance of storage facilities.
• Supervising the ordering and purchasing of drugs.
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned
