The Kwara State government said it would assist the Dangote Group of Companies to acquire a 50-hectare sugar cane plantation and rice mill in Patigi in the Edu Local Government Area.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General, Kwara State Bureau of Lands, Alhaji Yusuf Abdulwahab, on Friday, in Ilorin.

"In an effort to promote investment opportunities in the state, the state government has called on the general public, companies and individuals to come and invest in Kwara," he said.

The statement noted that the government had promised to cooperate with the company to acquire the land, adding that the property would be monitored by the state’s Surveyor-General.

It called on the company to encourage its counterparts to invest in the state, adding that Kwara is blessed with numerous natural resources.
