Court Dissolves Marriage over Wife's Misbehaviour
An Ilorin Area Court, Kwara State, has dissolved a three-year-old marriage between Abolaji Dare and Titi Dare, due to the latter’s misbehaviour and rudeness to her in-laws.
Abolaji, 42, a resident of Ganmo Area, Ilorin, had earlier prayed the court to dissolve his marriage to Titi because of her rude manner of approaching his relatives.
The plaintiff also alleged that his wife was fond of raining curses on them.
“My wife at times uses abusive words on my relatives, not minding they are her in-laws,” he said.
According to him, the marriage was contracted in 2010 and had produced one male child.
“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I cannot tolerate her bad manners anymore,” the plaintiff said.
The defendant did not object to the prayer of her husband, saying she was ready to withstand anything that came out of the plaintiff’s decision.
“I won’t allow any in-law pokenose into my family affairs or turning me into their slave,” she said.
She prayed the court to grant the prayer of her husband without any claim.
The judge, Mr Ibrahim Abdulquadri, dissolved the union and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.
