PDP leaders in the three senatorial zones of the state said at a press briefing over the weekend that there was no iota of truth in the report published on an online medium.

Former Governor of the state and Senator representing Kwara North, Shaaba Lafiagi who addressed newsmen on the development alongside Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa , Alhaji S.O. Yusuf, and Alh Jimoh Adesina, chairmen of PDP in Kwara North, South and Central districts respectively, absolved the chairman of Federal Character Commission (FCC), Professor Shuaib Abdulraheem who was alleged to be the brain behind the attempt from the plot.

Lafiagi said, "I do not believe that Professor Shuaib AbdulRaheem, the Federal Character Commission (FCC) chairman can be part of any plot to either hijack or polarise PDP’s structure in the state.

"I do not believe all the insinuations in the newspapers. I do not believe also that the PDP at the national level can do anything negative against its own in the state ".

The Senator restated that PDP remains a united family in the state, adding, "this has been clearly manifested in the sweeping electoral victories recorded by the party in the past elections".

He said the leader of the party in the state, Dr. Bukola Saraki was in constant touch with members of the party and has always given room for free expression of ideas and opinions among members.

"We make sure that each time the leader of the party is in the state, we meet members and demand to know from them what is being done wrongly by both the elected and appointed officers of the government," he said.
