ACN, Ahmed differ over govt performance
Iji, who met with leaders and members of ACN in Ilorin on Thursday, said the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the state lacked the capacity to attend to the aspirations of the people.
The people of the state, he added, were desirous of change.
He said, "The people want a break from the past and a manifest paradigm shift to witness and enjoy visible and measurable dividends of democracy that would impact positively on the welfare of the people far from mere celebrations usually witnessed on May 29 ".
However, the governor said the state had witnessed "unparalleled" development in the last decade.
According to him, his administration has remained steadfast in its commitment to creating "shared prosperity" for the people of the state through rapid economic growth and infrastructural development.
He said his leadership had taken another step in its youth development, especially with the absorption of an additional 1,000 youths via the KWABES initiative.
Atunwa, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji AbdulRahman Sanni, said the people of the state had ripped dividends of democracy in the last 10 years.
He, therefore, urged the people to continue to support the Ahmed-led administration to enable it to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
The Speaker also assured that the state House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to provide platform for good governance.
