Date: 2013-05-27

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has again re-assured the people to continue to promote peaceful co-existence within Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari gave the assurance at a special prayer to commemorate the seventy first anniversary of Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria and abroad held at Ansaru-Islam L.G.E.A School, Ilorin.

The Emir of Ilorin who was represented by Daudu Beere of Ilorin eulogised the founder of the Islamic Society and former first Grand Mufti of Ilorin, late Shaikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adaby for his doggedness to the propagation of Islam.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari therefore urged the members of the Islamic Society to be firm and rekindle their efforts in correcting the ills of the society as performed by the founder.

In his contribution, the former Grand of the State Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Justice Mutalib Ambali challenged the parents to bequeath adequate Islamic and western education on their children and wards to forestall them from going astray.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Ilorin branch of the Organisation, Alhaji Salman Siddiq-Pakata said the society was established to promote the frontiers of knowledge.

In his reaction, an Ilorin based Islamic Scholar, Uztaz Aminullahi Olohunoyin who traced the history of the Islamic organisation and the founder stressed the need for members to continue to pursue the ideals of the society.

It would be recalled that Ansarul-Islam society of Nigeria was founded on the twenty eight of May nineteen fort- two geared towards imparting Islamic education on the people.
