Kwara PDP recruits vote canvassers for 2015

Date: 2013-05-20

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the weekend, appointed 3, 744 canvassers across the state to help it win elections from now till 2015.

The canvassers' mode of operation will be to propagate the ideals, programmes and achievements of the PDP government in the state and in all the 16 local government areas of the state.

Former Governor Bukola Saraki, now a Senator representing Kwara Central at the Senate in Abuja, whose idea it was to get the canvassers was quoted to have specifically instructed them to see to it that PDP wins all subsequent elections in the state.

Saraki while addressing them at the party secretariat in Ilorin, had urged them to woo members of the opposition, particularly the troubled Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, into the PDP, pointing out that the party has enough room to accommodate defecting members from other parties.

They are to intimate the people of the state, especially the opposition members of the achievements of the PDP by carrying the message to the door step of the electorate, targeting the opposition.

Senator Saraki, who now assumes the position of Kwara's political father in place of his late father, promised that the recent rating of the state as number two in the list of states where unemployment is at the lowest ebb, was enough reasons why the people should continue to support PDP.
