Youth Council Wants Resuscitation of Moribund Industries
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has urged state and federal governments to resuscitate all ailing industries in the country in order to boost employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.
Kwara State Chairman of the council Comrade Kazeem Adekanye, who stated this in a statement in Ilorin yesterday, said if all the moribund industries were revived, it would complement other labour sectors that provide jobs for citizens.
The council, which commended the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kwara State chapter's approach to agitation on workers' entitlements with government, said their style yielded a lot of fruitful outcome without violence.
Meanwhile, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has described Nigerian Workers as veritable tools in the quest for the socio-economic transformation of the country.
Ahmed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba on the occasion of this year's Labour Day, said no society desirous of economic development can toy with its labour force.
