Relatives of immediate past Vice Chairman of Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Medical Dental Association of Nigeria, Dr. Adewunmi Ariyo Ariyo, who was killed in Ilorin last Thursday, yesterday said though investigation by the police to unravel Ariyo’s mysterious death is still on, God will avenge for the family.

Unknown gunmen numbering five were said to have laid ambush for the victim at the entrance of his house in Ilorin at about 10 pm on Thursday night, where he was reportedly dragged him into the sitting room of the storey building.

Ariyo, 44, was an indigene of Oko in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state and worked in the Dental Department of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), until his death. He left behind his wife and two daughters.

The deceased’s elder brother, Engineer Olawale Adewunmi, who spoke with our correspondent said his late brother was the pillar of the family, and that his death is a great loss to them.

“We thank God for his life because he was a quiet and easy going man. He was the type of person that wanted the success of everybody. He inconvenienced himself to make others happy”, he said.

Meanwhile, Kwara Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdul Bube, has said that the police are still investigating the matter and assured that the killers would be brought to justice.
