Update on Abubakar Bukola Saraki Rural Roads Rehabilitation and Maintenance Project

Following the flagoff program of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Rural Road Maintanance Project by his Constituency office on Saturday, 16th February, 2013, some signicant numbers of rural roads have been successfully graded among which are Oko-Erin, Wara/Osin/Egbejila, Adewole and Ubandawaki respectively, within the Local Government Areas of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

According to the statement released by the Directorate of Project of ABS Constituency Office in ilorin, Kwara State, about 35KM roads under ILORIN WEST L.G.A were fully rehabilitated between 16th Feb - 28th March, 2013. The detailed locations of these roads as released includes,

ILORIN WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA:

1. Aiyetoro - Joro Road. (3.8KM)
2. Orelope Street, Odoota. (2.7KM)
3. Elelu Street, Odoota. (250M)
4. Olorunshogo - Gaa Odoota Road (2.3KM)
5. Idi Ope Temidire Street. (500M)
6. Salaudeen Alege Street (750M)
7. Oko Ode Street - Asa Dam Road (385M)
8. Ile Anu Oluwa Street - Alaafia Oluwa Street.
9. Taiye & Kehinde Street to Saw Mill Motor Park
10. Elewure Street - Yidi Road
11. Ola Iya Street - Saw Mill
12. Gaa Imam - Adisco Company
13. Gaa Imam - Baba Ode.
14. Egbejila - Agaka Petroleum (Asa Dam Road). (6.5KM)
15. Wopa Street, Lao Area (250M)
16. Apaokagi - Aromaradu Street (650M)
17. Pakata - GGDS Road (650M)
18. Oke Foma - CAILS Road (3 interlink roads)
19. Aibinu - Alfa Yahaya Road.

20. Alawo - Ajegunle Road.

22. Agric Road via Olupo village
23. Ajibesin village Road
24. Omopoopo Road

It would be noted that the roads considered for this exercise are mainly earth roads which have a life span of one rainy season, after which it is re-graded annually to make it motorable.

The residents of the areas, while pouring encomiums and appreciation to the initiative of Senator Bukola Saraki, representing Kwara Central in National Assembly, they pointed out that the grading exercise of these rural roads is timely and meets the immediate need of the dwellers in view of the imminent approach of the rainy season. The residents also claim that the present conditions of the graded road improves socio- economic activities in their areas and serves as alternative routes to motorists as It reduces traffic congestion on some major roads.

The residents of the areas further recorded their appreciation and continuous support for the leadership of the Distinguished Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

In view of the success recorded so far and the attendant benefits to the rural areas, the constituency office Senator Bukola Saraki has continue to receive request of roads that need to be graded while the project team are visiting the areas to identify, assess and prioritize same for necessary action.
