The residents of pipeline, along Offa garage area of Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital has appealed to the state government through its relevant agencies to rehabilitate the pipeline bridge along Offa garage road which have been neglected for a long time.

Some residents of the area, who made the appeal while speaking with Royal Times correspondent, attributed the damage to heavy rains in 2012 which according to them resulted into a big ditch but no action has been taken to rehabilitate the bridge where a lot of commuters ply daily.

Speaking on the imminent danger that the dilapidated bridge poses, a shop owner, Mr Akinola noted that that the bridge could collapse if urgent action is not taken towards rehabilitating the bridge.

According to a resident of the area, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, notable government officials ply the bridge such as the State speaker of the house of assembly and other top government officials but yet nothing is done about the state of this bridge.

Speaking with the General Manager of Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA), Engr. Usman Jubril, on the development, the GM said the kwara state ministry of works through kwara state road maintenance agency is moving apace to repair the dilapidated bridge in a short time.

“Government is committed to rehabilitate all roads and bridges in kwara state as dilapidated condition of the bridge will be a thing of the past as soon as the ongoing construction of water pipes by ministry of water resource is completed”, He said.
