A new political group consisting of prominent politician has emerged in Kwara state to wrestle power from the family dominated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state by 2015.
The group, in a communique signed by Protem Chairman,Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and Protem secretary Alhaji Tunde Mohammed said the name of the group would be called "Kwara Leadership Caucus".

Proponents of the new group explained that they came together as a result of long domination and misrule among other issues by a family in the state.   "The formation of the body is in response to the need revamp Kwara state from decades of misrule and embarrassing under- development. The group is to checkmate the continue slide of the state to yet another round of one man dominated democracy in the state. It is also the intention of the group to provide a platform that will fix the economy of the state, redefine the political relationship of the component units and thereby create a new Kwara state that will be a pride of all Kwarans."

The noted that people of the state were fed up with the domination of Kwara politics stressing that some members of the political class have no credibility as a result of wrong political decisions and self aggrandizement.
