Skill Africa has launched an 8-week Digital Skill Bootcamp at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Digital Innovations, Hon. Kayode Ishola, charged youths to seize opportunities in the digital economy.

In a statement released by the Media Team of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Innovations, the Kwara State Government reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment through strategic partnerships in technology and skills development.

Speaking on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the official launch of the free bootcamp, Hon. Kayode Ishola urged young leaders to take full advantage of the programme.

Addressing the participating cohort, Hon. Kayode commended Skill Africa for delivering targeted learning pathways in high-demand fields such as AI Video Production, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Management.

He underscored the need to grasp the multidimensional tech landscape, emphasising that public-private collaborations remain key to unlocking massive economic growth.

"Government alone cannot do everything, but through partnerships, we can achieve great things," Hon. Kayode stated. "The global digital space offers vast opportunities. In today's economy, people care about your capacity and competence, not where you come from. I urge all participants to take this bootcamp seriously, leverage these opportunities before the 8 weeks elapse, and actively apply for internships."

The Governor's aide also assured participants that he would return at the end of the 8-week programme to assess their progress and explore additional state support for top-performing talents.

Delivering virtual remarks at the event, the Founder of Skill Africa, Mr. Daud Abiola, praised the Kwara State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for sustaining a thriving environment for innovation and youth capacity building.

"Kwara State is the only state where we have successfully conducted this bootcamp five times. That demonstrates Kwara's innovative commitment to youth talent," Mr. Abiola noted. "The state government has done an extraordinary job by creating an enabling ecosystem, building world-class infrastructure like the Ilorin Innovation Hub, and driving incubation programmes that empower young innovators."
