A former chairman of Kaiama Local Government Council, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed, has announced his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for the Kaiama/Baruten federal constituency in Kwara State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made his intention known in a letter of intent addressed to the PDP chairmen of both Kaiama and Baruten local government areas, which was made available to journalists on Sunday.

"I Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed of Bani ward, Kaiama LGA, hereby formally notify the leadership of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), of my intention to contest for the House of representatives seat, to represent Kaiama/ Baruten federal constituency in the forthcoming general elections," he stated.

Sadiq, a grassroots politician and devoted party loyalist, has served the PDP and the residents of Kaiama in several capacities, including as councillor for Bani ward, vice chairman, and subsequently executive chairman of Kaiama Local Government, as well as a delegate at the 2014 National Conference.

Throughout these positions, he maintained close ties with local communities to deliver democratic dividends and reinforce the party's structure at every level.

The aspirant further assured the party leadership and constituents that, if elected, he would champion quality education, improved healthcare, youth empowerment, and legislative measures designed to uplift ordinary citizens.

Whilst pledging unwavering loyalty to the PDP, he promised to strictly adhere to the party's rules, guidelines, and leadership decisions.

"I , therefore, humbly seek the support, blessings and nomination of our great party to fly the PDP flag in the forthcoming general elections," Sadiq said.
