Kwara Opens Portal for 3-Day Student Entrepreneurship Training, Equipment Support

Date: 2026-03-26

The Kwara State Government has announced the opening of registration portal for a 3-day Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Training designed specifically for student entrepreneurs across tertiary institutions in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs, Salami Wasiu Onidugbe, the training is aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs with practical knowledge, technical skills, and strategic tools required to develop viable businesses.

"The initiative seeks to address the persistent challenges faced by many student entrepreneurs who often miss out on grant and funding opportunities due to limited training in business proposal writing, financial planning, market analysis, product development and branding strategy," Onidugbe said in the statement.

"This intensive training will provide participants with expert-led sessions on proposal writing, financial literacy, digital branding, product development, business pitching, and regulatory compliance.

"Participants will also benefit from hands-on workshops, mentorship sessions, and practical exercises designed to help them transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises."

The Governor's aide explained that the initiative aligns with the state government's broader commitment to youth empowerment and economic development through entrepreneurship.

"We are not just training students on entrepreneurship, but to build ventures that can grow, attract investment, and contribute meaningfully to the economy of Kwara State," he said.

The intensive 3-day training is scheduled to hold in April 2026, with 100 participants to be selected from tertiary institutions across the state.

Eligible applicants must be bonafide students of recognised tertiary institutions in Kwara State with an existing business or demonstrable entrepreneurial skill, according to the statement.

Interested students are encouraged to apply via https://forms.gle/Y1gRnQXemcu7mc7P7 as registration opens on Wednesday, 24th March 2026, and closes on Tuesday, 7th April 2026.

At the end of the programme, participants will make presentations where outstanding participants will receive equipment support from the state government.

Prospective participants are encouraged to seize this opportunity to gain the knowledge, exposure, support and mentorship required to build successful businesses.
