Presidential Aide, Abiodun Essiet Begins Three-Day Grassroots Engagement Tour in Kwara
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), Abiodun Essiet, has commenced a three-day community engagement tour in Kwara State aimed at strengthening grassroots participation in governance and advancing inclusive development across host communities.
As part of the visit, Dr. Essiet will convene a physical session of the Citizens' Assembly and undertake courtesy and working visits to key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, security agencies and community leaders. The engagements are designed to deliberate on local priorities, social inclusion and feedback-driven governance.
A core pillar of the tour is security, with discussions focused on enhancing community-security collaboration, improving early warning mechanisms and supporting safer environments for sustainable development across the state.
On Day One of the visit, Dr. Essiet paid strategic courtesy and working visits to the State Security Service and the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekemi Ojo.
The visits were aimed at formally briefing security agencies on her community engagement activities and strengthening coordination between her office and security institutions.
Discussions during the meetings centred on the prevailing security situation in Kwara State, the importance of community-based intelligence sharing and collaborative approaches to sustaining peace and stability through proactive grassroots engagement.
