Governor AbdulRazaq Inaugurates 7-Man Committee to Deliver Direct Support to Woro Massacre Survivors

Date: 2026-02-11

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, yesterday inaugurated a seven-person committee recently established to deliver support to survivors of the Woro terrorist attack.

The Governor stated that the mandate of the committee is to engage directly with the affected families, community leaders, and residents to identify their most pressing needs, whether rehabilitation, medical support, livelihood restoration, infrastructure rebuilding, or psychosocial care.

Addressing members of the committee, the Governor reiterated his condemnation of the act and promised justice for the victims and survivors of the attack.

"Today, my heart remains heavy as we gather in the shadow of the horrible terrorist attack that struck Woro on 3rd February 2026. At least 75 precious lives or more were cruelly taken, while homes and families were shattered by the mindless terrorists who sought to impose their warped ideology on the rest of us.

"We will leave no stone unturned in pursuing justice for our people and strengthening security across our state. We are already coordinating with federal authorities and security agencies to ensure this evil never happens again.

"Kwara stands with you. Together, we will heal, rebuild, and emerge stronger. We shall not bow to fear or intimidation of any deranged ideology," AbdulRazaq said.

He added that the committee is expected to serve as a bridge between the people and the government, ensuring that interventions are community-driven, transparent, and effective.

The Chairman of the committee and Kiwozi of Kugiji, Hon. Ahmed Ibn Muhammad, assured the Governor that the committee would do everything humanly possible to link up with the affected people with a view to addressing their needs.

The inauguration was attended by cabinet members, Kaiama thought leaders, and top civil servants.
