Joke Silva Appointed as Managing Director, Malete Film Village
A most respected and experienced film maker, Joke Silva, has been appointed as the pioneer Managing Director of the Malete Film Village.
A statement from the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University says Joke Silva, who is a seasoned actress and a world class film director, will be the face and image of the Malete Film Village for some time to come.
The Malete Film Village is an independent venture established by the Kwara State University to produce films and also train film actors, actresses and other experts for Nollywood; the Nigerian film industry and for the entire African film industry.
The film village will serve as a world class facility for all interested film makers from all over the world.
Joke Silva attended the University of Lagos where she obtained Bachelor of Arts in English and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts, London, where she obtained a diploma in Dramatic Arts specialising in acting.
She won the 2008 AMAA Awards and 2006 Rell Award for Best Actress, Afro Hollywood Award, as contributions to the entertainment industry and NANTAP Award among others.
