A prominent legal luminary and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Debo Aderibigbe, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his consistent respect and support for the traditional institutions in Kwara State.

In a message released on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Aderibigbe described the recent elevation of several traditional rulers as a "welcome development" that recognizes the vital role of royal fathers as custodians of peace, culture, and social values.

The legal expert, speaking on behalf of the Barrister Adebayo Reps Project and the Kwara Advancement Forum, specifically lauded the Governor for the promotion of the Elemona of Ilemona, Oba Nurudeen Alawode Yusuf, to second-class status. Oba Yusuf, who also serves as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assumed the throne in July 2024 and was officially presented with his letter of elevation over the weekend.

"The present administration has shown a unique commitment to the dignity of our Royal Fathers, not just through upgrades, but by providing vehicles and other logistics to ease their movement and administrative duties," Aderibigbe noted.

He further explained that such recognitions are designed to spur the traditional rulers to redouble their efforts in fostering development within their domains. While congratulating the beneficiaries, Aderibigbe urged them to justify their new ranks by actively promoting tranquility and supporting the government's security initiatives across the state.

Aderibigbe concluded by applauding the state government's prudent management of resources, which has allowed for significant developmental strides in both urban and rural areas of Kwara.
