Over 227,000 New Members: Kwara Outshines North Central Neighbors In APC Registration
The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the North Central zone, Alhaji Muazu Bawa, has declared Kwara State as the frontrunner in the party's ongoing nationwide e-registration exercise.
Speaking during a working visit to Ilorin on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Bawa revealed that Kwara has recorded the highest number of registrants compared to other states in the zone, including Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Niger. He attributed the success to the "seriousness and good governance" demonstrated by the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration.
"To be honest, this is the best of all. Kwara is leading. I believe if you are given an additional one week, you will surpass the target you set for yourself," Bawa remarked during a courtesy call at the Government House.
In his response, Governor AbdulRazaq disclosed that the state has already registered 227,000 new members, despite occasional challenges with network connectivity. He credited the surge in interest to the economic reforms and leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he said have made the party more attractive to the masses.
The Governor also used the opportunity to join the call for the national leadership of the APC to extend the registration window, ensuring that no willing citizen is disenfranchised. He commended the state party chairman and the working committee for their "collective effort" in reaching the grassroots.
The visit concluded with a meeting between the National Vice Chairman and the state party executives to strategize on maintaining the momentum as the party prepares for future political engagements.
