Emir, Saraki Applaud Mallam Yusuf Ali's Philanthropy At Landmark Book Launch
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, have poured encomiums on the renowned legal luminary, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), for his consistent support for the less privileged.
The commendations were made on Thursday in Ilorin during the public presentation and launch of a book titled "Kuliya Ngeri of Ilorin: A Life of Purpose." The book, authored by Abiodun AbdulKareem, a former chairman of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), chronicles the life and impact of the senior lawyer.
Representing the Emir, the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr. Usman Atolagbe Jos, noted that the palace frequently receives feedback on Ali's acts of kindness toward both Muslims and Christians. Similarly, Dr. Bukola Saraki, represented by former Speaker Prof. Ali Ahmad, described Ali as a unique figure who prioritizes the welfare of others despite not being the wealthiest individual in the legal profession.
Close associates and mentees also shared heartfelt testimonies. Adebayo Adelodun (SAN) described Ali's middle name as "generosity," while Kehinde Eleja (SAN) likened him to a father figure who has supported his career from its infancy.
In his response, Mallam Yusuf Ali, who was turbaned last year as the first Kuliya Ngeri (Traditional Chief Legal Adviser) of the Ilorin Emirate, attributed his humanitarian spirit to divine grace. "It is only God that has counted me a kind-hearted person... I therefore count myself very, very lucky," he stated.
