NSCDC Deploys Over 2,000 Personnel for Festive Security Across Kwara State

Date: 2025-12-20

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has deployed 2,380 officers and men across the state to strengthen the protection of critical national assets and safeguard public facilities throughout the Yuletide season. The State Commandant, Umar Muhammed, directed the deployment to cover all sixteen local government areas of the state to ensure the safety of residents.

The personnel are drawn from elite and specialised units including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, and the Anti-Vandal Unit. The deployment also features the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive unit.

According to a statement signed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Ayoola Michael Shola, the officers have been strategically positioned based on operational requirements and threat assessments. The measure aims to ensure a secure environment for the end of year festivities.

Umar further noted that the command will coordinate closely with other security agencies, including local vigilantes, to ensure effective coverage, rapid response, and comprehensive security throughout the festive period.

While extending his warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Kwara State, the Commandant issued a stern warning to vandals and troublemakers, declaring that the NSCDC is fully prepared to confront any attempt to disrupt public peace or tamper with critical assets, and that all offenders will face the full weight of the law.

He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious, encouraging them to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency, noting that community cooperation is vital to a safe and peaceful festive season.
