The immediate past Governor of Kwara State, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki has donated a 32-seater Hyundai bus to  Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU).

The bus which was presented to the officers of the union last Saturday at the IEDPU Headquarters, Geri Alimi area, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, was to further ease the operations of the union.

Presenting the key and all documents of the vehicle to the leadership of IEDPU on behalf of Senator Bukola Saraki, the coordinator of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) constituency office, Mallam Yunus Abdulrahaman said the gesture was principally meant to improve the status of the union and add more value to its operations.

Abdulrahaman explained further that the idea of presenting new bus to IEDPU was conceived by Senator Bukola Saraki in recognition of the union vital roles towards the growth and advancement of Ilorin Emirate.

Also presented to the union was the sum of N100,000 to serve as fuel money to enable the union keep the vehicle on the road.

Receiving the bus on behalf of the union, the National President of IEDPU Justice Saka Yusuf described the gesture as first of its kind in the history of the union.

"I am short of words, we are very overwhelmed with this rare gesture. It shows that Senator Bukola Saraki is a true son of his father, late Abubakar Olusola Saraki.

"He completely takes after his father, when his father made promises, he redeemed his pledge and that was exactly what Senator Bukola demonstrated, he phoned me that he wanted to donate bus to us and here is the bus we are very glad for the gesture" he said.

Justice Yusuf disclosed that no one has ever made such a significant gift to the union before and said that the entire members of the union of which the donor is inclusive would continue to remember Senator Saraki for that wonderful donation.

The Director Centre for Pre-Degree and Remedial Studies of Kwara State University (KWASU), Dr Hamzat Abdulraheem who offered prayer for the donor over the gesture prayed God to continue to guard and guide Senator Saraki in all his endeavours.

Also at the presentation exercise included the state Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Sulaiman Yusuf Kayode Maja among others.
