Kwara United's Top Scorer Alalade Declares Team's Final Readiness for Historic Clash with Abakaliki
Kwara United forward Wasiu Alalade has declared his team's readiness and determination ahead of the 2025 President's Federation Cup final against Abakaliki FC at Lagos' Mobolaji Johnson Arena (MJ Arena) on Saturday, 28 June 2025 .
Alalade, currently the competition's top scorer, expressed confidence after a light training session at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. He stated: "We've worked tirelessly to reach this final, and our focus is unwavering. This is our chance to make history and secure a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup."
The striker, a key figure in Kwara United's campaign, highlighted the squad's unity and preparation, noting that the team will aim to replicate their semi-final form where they defeated Plateau United to claim the trophy.
The final will pit the Ilorin-based side against Abakaliki FC, who made headlines as the first team from Ebonyi State to reach the Cup's summit.
"We are in Lagos to make history and make our supporters proud," Alalade said. "I want to assure football-loving Kwarans that we are fully committed to bringing this trophy home."
He also addressed circulating rumours about his availability for the final, affirming that he is fully fit and ready for action.
The team's training session on Saturday was led by Head Coach Tunde Sanni, who echoed Alalade's optimism, stating that the entire squad is in peak condition both physically and mentally.
"All the players are in good shape and fully focused," Sanni noted. "We are ready to fire on all cylinders come Saturday."
Kwara United will be seeking their first-ever President Federation Cup title, and confidence appears high within the camp as they prepare to face the tournament's surprise package, Abakaliki FC.
