Mobolaji Johnson Arena to Host President's Cup Final for Second Year Running
The Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos will host the President's Federation Cup grand final for the second consecutive year on 28 June 2025, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced.
The compact and picturesque waterfront venue previously hosted last year's final, where El-Kanemi Warriors triumphed over Abia Warriors in the men's competition, while Rivers Angels narrowly defeated Naija Ratels 1-0 in the women's final. The stadium, originally known as King George V Stadium and later renamed Lagos City Stadium and Onikan Stadium, holds historical significance in Nigerian football.
Lagos State has staged a total of 60 grand finals of Nigeria's oldest cup competition, formerly known as the Governor's Cup, FA Cup, Challenge Cup, and Federation Cup.
This year's men's final will feature surprise package Abakaliki FC of Ebonyi State against Kwara United FC of Ilorin, while defending champions Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt will face Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia in the women's showdown, a much-anticipated clash of titans.
