Unidentified Man's Body Found in Asa River, Handed to Authorities for Identification
The Kwara State Fire Service recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man, estimated to be in his mid-40s, from the Asa River in Ilorin today, Tuesday 22 April 2025.
The incident was reported by officials from the Kwara State Ministry of Environment, who arrived at the Fire Service's operational centre in a vehicle with registration number 17B-D4KW. They observed the body floating in the river and alerted the Fire Service immediately.
A team of firefighters was quickly deployed to the scene to mitigate potential environmental hazards. The body was successfully retrieved and later handed over to the Ministry of Environment for formal identification and family claims.
The Director of Kwara State Fire Service Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa took this opportunity to advise the kwara at large to prioritize safety also urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities and they should desist from sending under Age children to fetch water in domestic well.
