Ex-NBA Lagos Chair Akangbe Hails Prof. Ali's Turbaning as Ilorin's First Kuliyan N'geri

Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, has extended warm congratulations to Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, on his turbaning as the inaugural Kuliyan N'geri of the historic Ilorin Emirate.

In his congratulatory message, Akangbe hailed Prof. Ali as “a Bar Leader, a gold standard, a resourceful advocate, and a community mobiliser,” commending his investiture by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin.

The turbaning ceremony, held at the Ilorin Emirate Palace, recognises Prof. Ali's contributions to legal excellence, philanthropy, and community development. Akangbe emphasised that the honour reflects Ali's lifelong dedication to justice and societal progress.

“Indeed, all honours are from God and He bestows them on whom He wills,” Akangbe remarked, noting that Prof. Ali's professional excellence and numerous acts of service to the Ilorin community, the legal profession, and the nation make him truly deserving of this distinguished honor.

Akangbe prayed for Prof. Ali, asking Almighty God to continue to bless him, grant him long life, and strengthen him in his service to God and humanity.

Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, is widely respected within the Nigerian legal community for his scholarship, leadership, and philanthropic efforts. His latest honour further cements his standing as a revered figure both within and beyond the legal profession.
