Kwara Commissioner Engages in NALDA Workshop to Boost Agricultural Land Development
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Kwara State, Dr. Afees Abolore Alabi, attended the "Strategy Co-Creation Workshop" organised by the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) in Abuja on Thursday.
The workshop, themed "Alliance for Sustainable Agricultural Land Development & Food Security," brought together key stakeholders from across Nigeria to brainstorm strategies for improving land-use efficiency and enhancing agricultural productivity. Dr. Alabi's participation reflects the state government's commitment to aligning with national initiatives aimed at strengthening food security through sustainable land management practices.
Dr. Alabi reaffirmed Kwara State's commitment to fostering agricultural innovation and strengthening the agribusiness value chain through strategic collaborations. He emphasized the State's proactive approach to engaging with relevant stakeholders to advance large-scale food production, agro-industrialization, and modern farming practices.
"Kwara State remains committed to transforming agriculture by enhancing productivity, expanding access to critical resources, and ensuring sustainable land development. Our goal is to equip farmers with the right tools, technology, and financial support to drive food security and economic growth," Dr. Alabi stated.
He commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), for his visionary leadership in driving policies that support mechanized farming, improve farmers' access to essential inputs, and promote food security both within the State and beyond.
As the planting season approaches, the state government is intensifying efforts to ensure that farmers benefit from quality inputs, modern techniques, and financial support. Through sustained collaboration with key stakeholders, Kwara is reinforcing its agricultural base while strengthening rural development.
