Kwara Governor to Honor Military Heroes at Remembrance Day Emblem Launch

Date: 2024-12-10

Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will officially launch the emblem for the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Appeal Fund on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

The ceremony, aimed at honoring fallen heroes and supporting veterans, is scheduled to hold at the Ministry of Social Development's Marriage Registry Hall in Ilorin, the state capital, starting at 10 am.

The emblem launch underscores the state government's commitment to recognizing the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and ensuring the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is celebrated every January 15 of the year to honour the memories of Nigeria's fallen heroes who put their lives on the line while protecting the country and its citizens from external threats.

Governor Abdulrazaq does not only use this event to honour the memories of the country's fallen heroes but also use it to donate a reasonable amount to the purse of the Force in showing appreciation for its protection of the country from external threats
