Three Kwara United Stars Called Up to Super Eagles B for CHAN Qualifiers
As reported by the Daily Post, three Kwara United players have earned call-ups to join Nigeria's Super Eagles B team for the 2025 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers against Ghana. The selected players include goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus, midfielder Akanni Akeem, and defender Ibrahim Yahaya.
The call-ups were confirmed by Kwara United's General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, through a social media post, highlighting the club's pride in contributing talent to the national team.
“Coach Augustine Eguavoen has extended invitations to three additional Kwara United players for the CHAN Eagles camp, namely goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus, midfielder Akanni Akeem, and defender Ibrahim Yahaya,” Kwara United wrote on X.
The players are expected to join the rest of the team immediately after the matchday 10 fixture in Abuja.
The first leg of the qualifying fixture is billed for the weekend of 20th – 22nd December, with the return leg a week later.
The overall winner will earn a berth at CHAN 2025 to be co-hosted by Kenya, Moore and Tanzania.
The finals will run from 1st to 28th February 2025.
