Ilorin to Host National Muslim Peace Conference on Tuesday, 19th November
According to Royal News, Dr Salihu Alabi Hammed, a lecturer from the Department of Politics and Governance at Kwara State University, Malete, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity among Islamic scholars globally.
In an exclusive interview with Royal News Online on Thursday, Dr Hammed highlighted the vital role of peace and harmony in societal progress, stating, "It is only in an atmosphere of peace and harmony that meaningful development can occur. Peace serves as the foundation for growth, and we cannot afford to let ignorance guide our daily affairs."
“However, in a bid to curb all forms of misconduct and misconception in out society, arrangements have been concluded to host a conference in Ilorin he Kwara State capital tagged: The Ilorin National Muslim Peace Conference.
“The event will hold on Tuesday, 19th November 2024 at De Peace Hotel & Suites, Tanke Road, Ilorin beginning from 10am.”
Dr. Alabi further said, “This conference aims to promote unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among Muslims. Your presence is highly valued. We look forward to receiving your esteemed presence.”
The Convener bagged Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies 2005, Bachelor of Arts, Security and Strategic Studies and PhD in Peace and Development Studies 2023 all from the University of Ilorin.
His area of Interest includes, Religious conflicts among Muslim clerics, Security and Strategic Studies, Conflicts Resolution and Analysis.
He has supervised more than 10 students thesis in Political science, Public Administration and strategic studies. He published in local, national and international journals.
