Governor AbdulRazaq Relaunches Free Transportation Scheme Amid Economic Reforms
In an effort to mitigate the economic impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration's reforms, the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reintroduced its free transportation initiative for residents.
As outlined in a recent pricing template released by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Technology, the government announced that buses providing transportation along routes such as Post Office to Tanke, Unilorin, Oja, Eyenkorin, Amayo, Mandate, Oyun, UITH, and Okeose, among others, will now be free for commuters.
The previous price template for these destinations from Post Office, which is the transit hub, was between N300 and N500. For instance, from Post Office to Tanke - Unilorin was N500 while Oyun - UITH - Okeose was fixed at N400 for students, staff and the public.
Governor AbdulRazaq has been consistent in providing free transportation palliative for Kwara residents whenever the need arises. It would be recalled that during the fuel scarcity and currency swap by the former President Muhammadu Buhari government, Governor Abdulrazaq provided free transportation for the residents.
Since the President Tinubu-led federal government began its economic reform last year, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has equally provided subsidized and free transportation palliative for residents to mitigate its effect.
