Federal Representative Shagaya Facilitates Capacity-Building for Women and Youths
According to a news report from Voice of Nigeria, Muktar Tolani Shagaya, the federal representative of Ilorin West/Asa Constituency in Kwara State, has initiated a capacity-building programme to empower women and youths through training in fish farming and soap making.
This initiative, organised in collaboration with the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology in Kano, spanned three days for fish farming and two days for soap making. It aimed to equip participants with essential skills to boost their productivity, self-reliance, and overall economic well-being.
Speaking to journalists, Mr Basheer Luqman, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Shagaya, emphasised the lawmaker's deep commitment to empowering his constituents and improving their standard of living.
According to him, the trainees are now equipped with knowledge that will enable them to contribute positively to their communities and the state.
Fish farming trainees
He said to further support the newly trained individuals, the Lawmaker provided fish, feeds and cash for the fish farming trainees and items as well as cash grants for the soap makers.
Responding to the guesture, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to apply their new skills for the betterment of their communities.
This initiative is said to be one of several projects undertaken by Muktar Shagaya to empower his constituents and promote economic development in the Ilorin West/Asa Constituency.
