Date: 2024-05-03

According to a news report from the New Telegraph, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has administered the oath of office to Dr. Alabi Afeez Abolore as the Commissioner for Solid Minerals. In his charge, the governor emphasized the importance of patriotism, hard work, and prudence in Abolore's new role.

This development also involves Engr. AbdulQuawiy Olododo, who now assumes the position of Commissioner for Works and Transport. Olododo had previously managed both roles in an acting capacity, balancing responsibilities between Solid Minerals and transportation infrastructure.

“You are again joining the administration on the back of your track record, your commitment to excellent public service, and your people skills as a technocrat and a politician,” the Governor said in Ilorin at the brief ceremony attended by the House of Assembly Speaker Rt Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, a handful of cabinet members, and some political leaders from Ilorin East.

“The government has a clear agenda to leave Kwara a lot better than it met it. We have made impressively positive differences across the state, and you are joining the cabinet to contribute your own bit to the progress so far made.

“Team work, due diligence, hard work, patriotism, and prudence are key to achieving greater efficiency and better outcomes in this important role. I trust you to do your best as you join the cabinet once again,” the governor said.

At the event were secretary to the State Government, Prof Mamman Jibril, chief of staff to the governor, Alh AbdulKadir Mahe, senior adviser and counselor, Alh Sa'adu Salau, non-e xecutive director, NNPCL, Dr. Ghali Alaaya, senior special assistant on Religion (Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro, APC party chairman for Ilorin East, Comrade Habib Lawal, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah; Baale Iponrin, Alh Ahmad Musa, Alhaji L. A.K Jimoh; Hajia Muinat Ibrahim; among other dignitaries and family members.

Prof Jibril, for his part, tasked the commissioner to be loyal, steadfast and committed as he takes up the new responsibility, adding that his pick was a reward for his service to the community and a support for the party.

Alabi, in his remarks, thanked governor AbdulRazaq for again trusting him to serve the state, pledging not to let down his government and the people of the state.

“I am standing here this evening to pledge that all the sterling qualities you have presented in your speech shall be achieved In Shaa Allaah. I am going to work in a way to ensure that all the unwavering commitment, dedication, and loyalty shall continue. I will not fail the administration,” he said.
