Gunmen who kidnapped a school proprietor, Alfa Giwa, at the weekend in Warah, Il?rin West LGA of kwara State, have refused to release him despite collecting a N4m ransom.

Our correspondent gathered that the kidnappers later contacted the family of the victim and demanded N15m.

An elder in the community, Alhaji Abdulqadir Onile, who confirmed the attack, said, “The kidnappers contacted the family and demanded a N15m ransom. Through the combined effort of the community, we raised N4m and took it to them; which was rejected.

“We are still negotiating with them but they have continued to hold on to him, and we just pray for his safety in their den.”

The state police command was yet to appoint a spokesman to replace the retired Ajayi Okasanmi.
