Offa Poly rector promises to transform institution
The rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Dr. Kamoru Kadiri, has informed the staff of the institution that the polytechnic must work along the lines of development, academic excellence and transformation.
Kadiri announced the new vision while addressing management staff after receiving the handover notes from the acting rector, Mr. Eghe Igbinehin.
The new helmsman appreciated the past chief executives of the polytechnic for their great contributions and achievements during their tenure.
He promised to build on their achievements and take the institution to greater heights.
He said: “I am aware of the great responsibilities entrusted to me. I assure you that I am fully committed to carrying out my duties diligently, professionally, honestly, and with the utmost fear of Almighty Allah. My vision is to ensure that this polytechnic continues to be a centre of academic excellence, an institution that is known for producing highly skilled graduates that are ready to take on the world.
“I intend to work closely with all members of staff and students to identify areas that require improvements and explore growth opportunities.”
Speaking further, the new rector added that the challenging time for higher education with technological advancements and shifting societal demands which necessitate new approaches to teaching and learning.
Kadiri therefore, reiterated his commitment to work with all stakeholders to ensure the polytechnic stays abreast of the latest trends in education and provides students with the tools they need to succeed in the rapidly evolving job market.
“To achieve this, we must work together as a team, leveraging the collective knowledge and expertise of our staff and students. I am confident that with our shared commitment to excellence and a spirit of collaboration, we can achieve remarkable things in the years ahead,” Kadiri added.
He tasked staff to remain optimistic, focused, and committed to the success of the polytechnic to pursue the ideals of academic excellence, social responsibility, and innovation.
In his speech, the Chairman Governing Council, represented by Barr. Shegun Olawoyin commended the outgone acting Rector, Mr. Igbinehin for his remarkable feats within the short period of time and congratulated the new rector on his appointment as the 5th substantive rector.
He urged him to leverage on his rich track record to drive the polytechnic forward.
The council chairman also charged the rector to add a patent to his name during his tenure, he added that as a scholar who has patent rights to his credit, the polytechnic must produce one of the best patents in the country.
He admonished the new rector to pick dedicated and committed officials among staff to work with him and urged all staff to continue to work peacefully and harmoniously with the new administration for the success and progress of the polytechnic.
