Club '98 set of one the over century-year-old Government Secondary School (GSS), has named 12 committees to organise a series of events to mark its silver jubilee anniversary coming up later in December 2023.

The committees include Planning, Medical, Publicity, Investment, Mobilisation and Security.

Others are Social/ Welfare, Logistics, Legal, Fundraising, Project and Diaspora Committees.

Rising from its webinar held on March 5th, 2023, the old boys agreed to pull resources together with a view to plowing back to their alma matter which they left 25 years ago.

The virtual meeting was also attended by club 98 old boys members in the diaspora including those in USA , Sound city amongst others.

A statement by the club's publicity committee stated that the proposed reunion, will among other objectives provide a platform for the old boys to deliberate on areas begging for interventions in the over 100-year-old school .

The coordinator of the webner , Dr. Abdullah Badrudeen , tasked members of the various committees to see the assignment as a call to service and urged them to work as a team to achieve the set goals.

Dr Badrudeen reminded the old boys of the “can do spirit” of their old school days which he said had made many to excel in their chosen disciplines.

Badrudeen who had also coordinated a series of webinars that culminated in the setting up of the committees had assured the old boys that the re-union apart from bringing development to their alma matter, will also uplift individual members in their chosen careers.
