Kwara Gov Moves To Grant Judiciary, Legislature Autonomy
Kwara State governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, on Tuesday, sent two Executive Bills to the State House of Assembly, seeking to grant financial autonomy to both legislative and judicial arms of the state government.
The Bills are Kwara State Legislative Fund Management Bill 2022 and Kwara State Judiciary Fund Management Bill 2022.
The Speaker of the House, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, read the two separate messages from the governor on the Executive Bills during Tuesday’s plenary.
The Bills seek to confer autonomy on the state legislature and judiciary for the management and control of recurrent and capital expenditures in line with the provision of the Nigerian Constitution as amended
Governor AbdulRazaq urged the House to give the Bills the usual quick consideration and passage.
Speaker Danladi-Salihu later referred the two Bills to the Business and Rules Committee of the House, asking the committee to slate the Bills for first reading at the appropriate time.
