Fire Guts Multi-Million Naira Warehouse In Kwara

Date: 2022-03-16

A midnight fire on Tuesday gutted a waste recycling warehouse located along Coca-Cola Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The inferno, which reportedly started around 3:25am, completely destroyed a section of the multi-million naira facility.

The spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, who confirmed the incident, attributed it to an abandoned bush fire.

"It later spread to the storey building housing the warehouse which belonged to a waste recycling company based in Ibadan.

"There were two stores in the large warehouse and one had already been engulfed by the fire even before the arrival of the firemen.

"However, firemen were able to save the other storehouse from the inferno," he added.
