2023: Kwara indigenes organise prayers for Tinubu
More than 5,000 Kwara indigenes in Lagos yesterday held a special prayer session for the success of the perceived presidential ambition of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
A Christian cleric, Pastor Benjamin Awire gave the charge at a prayer session organised by a social political group, Kwarans in Lagos for Tinubu held at Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, Lagos.
Indigenes of Kwara State residing in Lagos trooped out in their numbers to show solidarity and urging Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to go ahead and vie for the position of the country's President to find solutions to challenges facing the country.
Tinubu enjoys huge following among politicians in Kwara and sees the state as very crucial to his success if he gets the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, this year.
Pastor Awire said prayers alone cannot provide good leadership for Nigeria, as the country prepares for another round of general elections in 2023 but people of Kwara State in Lagos State must be actively involved by mobilizing for credible leaders.
He urged Nigerians to participate in the electoral process aimed at electing credible leaders in 2023, saying Asiwaju Tinubu is a worthy leader who has credible credentials to steer the ship of the country to greater heights.
In a welcome address, the Director General of Kwarans in Lagos for Asiwaju Tinubu, Mr. Yahyah Olorunisola popularly known as the Minister said the prayer was organized to seek God's favour and protection for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu so as to guide him in his quest to actualize his Presidential ambition.
Mr. Olorunisola who said the prayer was to pay back for the good deeds Asiwaju Tinubu has been doing to Kwara State indigenes residing in Lagos, pointed out that many Kwarans have been employed into Lagos State and Federal cabinet with the support of Asiwaju Tinubu.
Mr. Olorunisola used the occasion to implore those who have not obtained their Permanent Voters Card to do so and participate in 2023 general elections.
Abdulwasiu Salaudeen who anchored the program lauded Tinubu for his inspirational leadership which has contributed to deepening the democratic practice.
