The press conference was to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the establishment of the Media Group.

According to Adebayo, the media group comprised Royal FM 95.1MHz, Royal Television Service and Royal Times of Nigeria Newspaper.

He observed that "the medium becomes the first DTT content provider in Ilorin and we are very proud of this feat".

Adebayo, who is also the Chairman of the Telecommunications License Association of Nigeria, stated that the media group has also received two additional radio broadcasts licences for Royal FM stations in Delta and Kaduna States.

He said: "We are very grateful to the National Broadcasting Commission for counting us worthy of these new licenses as we pledge to continue to be a leading example of indigenous broadcasting, by upholding all the principles of good journalism that we subscribe to.

"We will always deliver excellent and diverse entertainment products, with high content of cultural and moral values as key components of our products.

"We recognise the need to respect diversity in age groups, and promote gender parity."

Adebayo stressed the need for Nigerians to review their sense of nationalism and patriotism and begin to tell positive stories about the country, adding: "We have no other country than this and we must join hands to build and transform the nation."

He said that Nigerians must begin to become proponents of positive thinking for the country and should shun what can cause disunity and affect peaceful coexistence in the nation.

The media magnate also commended the Federal Government for the identification of Nigerian through the National Identification Number and SIM card linkage, saying: "This is one of the best things that had happened to our national identity management."

Speaking further, Adebayo noted that the 5th Generation Technology is the next generation of wireless network technology that is expected to provide faster connections with much higher capacity.

He said this innovation would be good for the country as it will allow many more users and devices to access faster internet connections and large amounts of data at the same time.
