The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh has stated that the State's Visual Arts Centre in Ilorin, which is under construction, when completed will serve as a genuine place for showcasing creativities and talent discoveries which will further enhance the economic growth and employment opportunities for the State's teeming youths.

Abosede, during an inspection visit to the construction site on Monday to ascertain the level of work done, hailed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for conceiving the idea of constructing the edifice, noting that this will no doubt change the narratives of the visual arts sub-sector in the State.

She disclosed that the Centre is one of the initiatives of the current administration aimed at transforming Kwara State into an international tourist destination and invariably leading to its historic and magnificent appearance in the world map of creative and visual Arts, with the implication of unprecedented huge revenue generation both to the State and the country at large.

She noted that the initiative is one of the strategic responses to place Kwara State firmly on the global map of tourism development.

She also affirmed that the project would make Kwara State one of the outstanding places in the creative and entertainment industry as well as create jobs for sustainable growth and development.
