The Za'ana of Ilorin, Engr. Yusuf Olanrewaju Sagaya has been described as an outstanding professional, exceptional patriot and a distinguished elder statesman who has contributed greatly towards the peace and progress of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

This eulogy was contained in a congratulatory message sent to the elder statesman on his 75th birthday anniversary by the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, which was signed on his behalf by the Union's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam.

The retired intelligence topnotch said that the occasion of the birthday of the multiple award-winning patriots, which coincided with the commencement of this year's Holy month of Ramadan, was quite significant as it signifies more blessings for the former Chairman of the Kwara State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Alhaji Uthman said that Engr. Sagaya has been a blessing to Ilorin Emirate in many spheres, saying that it would be difficult to tell the history of the developmental strides of Ilorin, most especially since the creation of Kwara State without a generous reference to the name and contributions of the renowned Civil Engineer.

The IEDPU President, who catalogued the exemplary roles of the birthday boy to the positive transformations of Ilorin Emirate right from his days as a student, also noted that he was among the first few indigenous modern professionals who so much believed in the greatness of Ilorin that they established several outfits, which created employment opportunities for their younger compatriots, among other positive effects.

Alhaji Uthman also thanked Engr. Sagaya for not only being a model personality and peace-builder per excellence for also accepting to serve as the Chairman of the opening ceremony of the IEDPU last National Conference, among other supports, but he has also offered the Union over the years.

While urging other privileged indigenes of Ilorin Emirate to emulate the patriotism of the Za'ana of Ilorin, Alhaji Uthman prayed Allah to grant Engr.Sagaya more decades of sound health and greater services to Allah and humanity.
