The Kwara State Government has urged local government administrators to develop a budget preparation module that will key into the policy thrust of the state government.

The State Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Chief Olatunde Adeoti, gave the advice during an interactive session with top officers of the Local Government Service Commission

Adeoti in a statement signed by the press secretary of his ministry, Sanni Sakariyau, said both tiers of government need to complement each other to bring dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

He stated his ministry's readiness to train local government staff in areas of effective planning, budget preparation, implementation as well as evaluation.

He emphasized the need for synergy among his ministry and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart as well as Local Government Service Commission in the areas of planning, budget preparation, monitoring and evaluation.

He called on local government administrators to create planning units to assist them for proper planning.

In his remark, the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Suleiman Kayode Yusuf, said the commission was ready to partner with the ministry to actualize the dream of present administration.

He also called for interaction between the commission and other government agencies on the grey areas which he said would open windows of opportunities for all.
