Baba Saraki: 8 years on, we still rue your passing - Ali Ahmad

Date: 2020-11-15

As we mark the 8th year remembrance of the demise of Oloye, Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki, we must remind ourselves of the need to emulate his lifestyle and political philosophy for which he lived and died as this is the only way to ensure his legacy lives on.

The leadership qualities and style of Baba Saraki as a vibrant leader with love of the masses at heart has remained unrivalled.? His worth and values were much more realised and appreciated after his demise. It is therefore not surprising that till date, the political class across the country still rue his demise eight years down the lane.

It will be difficult to fill the vacuum Dr. Olusola Saraki has left behind in terms of care for the needy and turning children of nobody to important personalities devoid of sentiment.

We will continue to miss his counsel. At a time like this when the country is going through a myriad of challenges, his advice and words of wisdom would have been beneficial in creating more unity and helping our leaders surmount ?the problems.

It is my prayer that Almighty Allah (SWT) continue to be pleased with Dr Olusola Saraki, bless his soul and protect all he left behind.

Dr Ali Ahmad
