Date: 2020-08-31

Abdulrazaq is a blessing to Kwara – says Lafiagi Monarch

The Kwara State Government has further taken the campaign against Covid-19 pandemic to Edu Local Government Area of the State with a charge on residents to imbibe the safety protocols prescribed by World Health Organizations (WHO).

The campaign is in furtherance of the ongoing efforts by the State to flatten the curve of Covid-19 pandemic in the State.

To actualize this, the State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq sent a delegation to the three districts in Edu LGA.

The team interfaced with the Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Saadu Kawu Haliru, Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Ndapoktwa and the Emir of Shonga, Doctor Haliru Yahaya Ndanusa to deliver face masks and hand sanitizers as well as educate the people on the effects of Covid-19.

Represented by his Special Assistant on Religious Affairs (Islam), Ustaz Zubair Ibrahim Dan-maigoro the Governor also warned residents of the area against jungle Justice insisting that his Government will not fold its arms and watch people go lawless.

The warning he stressed became imperative in view of a dehumanizing video circulating on social media showing human nakedness and stoning scene at a Village in Pategi, some kilometers away from the area.

He harps on the need for all to thrive and comply with the rule of law, urging Community leaders to guard against violation of human rights in their domain. 'We are sent by the Governor to inform you that Covid-19 is not a scam, it's real. Also, Government is not happy with a stoning scene in the name of healing in any guise. He said we as leaders should guard chastity of human being even the holy books forbid taking laws into our hands' the SA religion said.

Receiving the visiting team, the Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Saadu Kawu Haliru thanked the Governor for the visit, applauding his giant strides in the Local Government Area.

The Monarch described the first year of Governor Abdulrazaq as that which is filled with impactful projects, saying the score cards of Governor Abdulrazaq transcends the achievements of the sixteen years rule of immediate past administration in the area.

'Governor Abdulrazaq is a blessing to Kwara. We are proud of his achievements and grateful for the Construction of Lafiagi township roads and repair of bridge linking our community with neighbouring village in Niger State'; said the Monarch.

He urged the State Government to reinforce its presence in Lafiagi calling for prompt rehabilitation of Kwara TV substation (Lafiagi) and other developmental projects as critical to corporate Governance in the area.

The team passed similar messages at the palaces of Etsu Tsaragi and that of the Emir of Shonga where the traditional Chiefs in the area commended the Governor for changing the narrative of their domains.
