Kwara Recruits 200 KWARTMA Officers - Dr Abubakar Amuda-Kannike
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has approved the recruitment of 200 more officers into the State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA).
This initiative was part of effort to maintain sanity on the roads across the state.
The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Abubakar Amuda-Kannike, made this known weekend while addressing officers and men of the authority in Ilorin.
Kannike, who urged the rank and file of the agency to be alive to their responsibility, promised to see to the regularization of those that were yet to be fully employed with a view to boosting their morale.
He encouraged them to justify the huge investment of the state government on the organisation, reminding that the objectives of the agency was to enforce traffic rules.
While pledging that the government would continue to recognise and reward hard work, the commissioner warned that those found wanting would be shown the way out.
Responding, the Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Alhaji Hamzat Bello, promised that his officers and men would live up to the expectations of the state government.
He also reiterated that the agency was poised to reward hard working officers and reprimand those with lazy mind.
Highlight of the occasion was the oath taking by officers and men, led by Assistant General Manager of the agency (Training and Operation), Alhaji Mustapha Kola Raheem.
