2nd batch of 556 Kwara pilgrims arrive

The second batch of 556 pilgrims from Kwara state to this year's Hajj in Saudi Arabia have arrived Ilorin international Airport.

The Pilgrims who arrived in the early hours of Tuesday were seen in high spirit and full of energy.

They were received on arrival by family members , well wisher as well as members of the state pilgrims welfare board on ground.

Speaking with newsmen through a telephone interview the Executive Secretary , Kwara state Pilgrims welfare Board, Alhaji Muhammed Tunde -Jimoh said the pilgrims departed Jeddah at about 10:30 am Saudi Arabia time.

He explained that subsequent batches would be airlifted as soon as the board received confirmation of the time from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. Radio Nigeria report that 1,116 pilgrims have so far returned out of the total number of 2,026 pilgrims including officials who traveled to Saudi Arabia in four batches for the 2019 hajj pilgrimage from Kwara state.
